Family Games to Play Anywhere and Everywhere, Part 2
If our first round of family games was not enough, Todd Cefaratti suggests you try one of these favorites to entertain your family, all of which require nothing more than imagination to play.
4. Memory Games To get your family thinking, memory games such as Grandma’s Trunk make for a perfect way to pass the time with thought and careful consideration. In Grandma’s Trunk, one player starts the game by saying, “I packed my grandma’s trunk, and put in it,” then a word that starts with the letter A. The next players says the same line, and the previous word, followed by a word that starts with B. The game continues with each new player being required to say all the previous words in the order they were given before adding a new item that starts with the next letter.
5. Rhyme Time In this game, family members work together to create a poem whose every line ends with a word that rhymes with the last word of the previous line. The catch: each final word must come from an item in your current location, or an item that could logically be found in your location. For example, if you and your family are strolling through a public park, you might start the game by saying, “I climbed up a tree,” and the next person might spot a beehive and say, “but was scared down by a bee.” Do not worry about making sense, just rhyming words.
